Ecclesiastical Governance and Organization
Independent Faith Church Structure
The Independent Faith Church (IFC) operates with a simple, purpose-driven structure designed to support both spiritual growth and practical operations.
CIFC Board of Directors
-
Oversees the Corporation of the Independent Faith Church (CIFC) in non-spiritual matters.
-
Responsibilities include authorizing major expenditures, charitable contributions, legal matters, and real estate acquisitions.
-
Appoints the President / Presiding Minister every six years. In rare cases, the Board may hold an emergency vote of “no confidence” with unanimous approval.
President / Presiding Minister
-
Focuses on spiritual leadership and executive duties, supported by administrative staff.
-
Ensures the Church remains aligned with Barbequia’s principles of peace, love, and service.
Treasurer and Administrative Staff
-
Treasurer (and Congregational Treasurers) manage financial records, track donations and expenditures, and ensure fiscal compliance.
-
Administrative Staff support operational tasks, helping ministers focus on their spiritual and community mission.
-
Treasurers authorize expenditures, while final approval and bank account signatory authority rests with the Presiding Minister.
Congregational Level
-
Local congregations may have Congregational Ministers, Treasurers, and support staff as needed.
-
This decentralized approach allows ministers to serve their communities effectively while following the Church’s guiding principles.
A Structure for Service
This governance model keeps the Church efficient and accountable, without sacrificing its focus on spiritual growth. By balancing oversight with freedom for ministers and volunteers, IFC ensures that every action, financial or spiritual, supports our mission of peace, love, and personal development.
