The Independent Faith Church
The Independent Faith Church draws its inspiration from the philosophy of Barbequia, also called Barbequianism or the Independent Nation of Barbequia. For us, “religion” isn’t about rules or rituals, it’s about one’s relationship with what they find sacred, meaningful, or worthy of reverence. Barbequia is our guiding path.
At IFC, we honor each person’s unique spiritual journey. We don’t prescribe beliefs. Instead, we offer core principles and practical guidance for living peacefully, joyfully, and lovingly. Our mission is to support self-discovery, personal growth, and the creation of a life aligned with your highest values.
As a trans-denominational church, our philosophy is rooted in love, peace, respect, and focused intention. We believe that when intentions are aligned with these values, they shape a reality that nurtures personal fulfillment and self-mastery.
We celebrate the unity of our shared humanity and honor diversity of belief, culture, and background. Differences exist, but our deeper connection as humans is far more powerful than anything that divides us.
The Independent Faith Church is led by volunteer Ministers, people who have walked the paths of challenge and growth and now offer their experience and compassion freely. Through their guidance, we create a welcoming space for all spiritual seekers, wherever they are on their journey.
The Corporation of the Independent Faith Church (CIFC) is an Oregon-based nonprofit religious organization with tax-exempt status under IRC section 501(c)(3). CIFC manages the Church’s operations, with headquarters in Pocatello, Idaho, supporting both local and global communities.

What Does “Trans-Denominational” Mean?
Being trans-denominational means looking beyond the dogmatic differences of religions to focus on what truly unites us spiritually. We emphasize shared experience, universal truths, and self-discovery—the aspects of life that transcend any single religious tradition.
We believe self-realization and personal mastery go beyond dogma. Humanity is connected in profound ways, and differences are small compared to our shared spiritual journey. Instead of focusing on division, IFC honors each individual’s path to discovering the divine, offering support, guidance, and a safe, non-judgmental space for exploration.
