The Independent Faith Church
The Independent Faith Church draws its inspiration from the philosophical principles of Barbequia, also known as Barbequianism or the Independent Nation of Barbequia. While “religion” can mean many things, we define it simply as one’s relationship with what they find sacred or worthy of reverence. In this sense, Barbequianism is our guiding path.
At the Independent Faith Church, we honor each person’s unique spiritual journey. Instead of prescribing specific beliefs, we focus on core principles and practical approaches for peaceful, joyful, and loving living. Our mission is to support each person’s path of self-discovery and growth.
As a trans-denominational church, our philosophy is rooted in love, peace, respect, and focused intention. We believe that aligning our intentions can create a reality that supports personal fulfillment and self-mastery.
We celebrate the unity of our shared humanity, respecting the diversity of beliefs, cultures, and backgrounds. While we recognize differences in culture or beliefs, we see them as minor compared to our deeper human connection.
The Independent Faith Church is led by devoted volunteer Ministers, who give their time and service freely to welcome and support all who join us.
The Corporation of the Independent Faith Church (CIFC) is an Oregon-based nonprofit religious organization with tax-exempt status under IRC section 501(c)(3). CIFC manages the Church’s administration and operations, with headquarters in Pocatello, Idaho.
We welcome you with open hearts and minds.
What Does “Trans-Denominational” Mean?
Being trans-denominational means that we look beyond the dogmatic differences of various religions to focus on what truly unites us spiritually. Our approach emphasizes shared spiritual experiences, universal truths, and self-discovery that transcend any single religious background.
We believe that self-realization and personal mastery go beyond religious dogma and that humanity is connected in ways far more profound than any differences between us. Differences are often based on individual or third-party interpretations, and we view them as minor in the grand, eternal scheme.
Instead of focusing on what divides us, we honor each individual’s journey to discover the divine. Our role is to support this journey without judgment, creating a welcoming space for all spiritual seekers.
